Facade painting
Comprehensive facade painting services
The facade of your house no longer looks as good as it used to? Or maybe your company’s building has lost its aesthetic appeal and you want to renovate it? Our offer of facade painting is prepared for both individual and business customers. At RS-MAL, we are happy to take care of cleaning and painting the facades of apartment blocks, single and multi-family houses, as well as industrial halls.
Before we start any work, we need to assess the technical condition of the surface, as well as perform surface washing. Identical to roof painting and steel structure painting services. We are able to paint almost any facade, and if necessary, we will also repair minor defects in the material. All this to meet the expectations of even the most demanding customers.
Precision painting of building facades - why use our help?
At RS-MAL, we use only proven silicone paints for painting facades. This is a raw material that is durable, vapor-permeable and resistant to UV radiation. As a result, the surface of the renovated facade retains its durability and aesthetics for many more years of building use.
We can perform facade painting services at great heights. We use sturdy scaffolding and have high rises, thanks to which we safely carry out all work at heights of more than 1 m above the surface of the ground.
If tin facades are involved, then we use alkyd, acrylic and epoxy-polyurethane systems. Our experts at RS-MAL know exactly what type of paint will work best for renewing a particular type of facade. We provide services by spray or roller if hard-to-reach areas are involved.
Facade painting on commercial, industrial and private buildings
As part of our facade painting service for houses, blocks of flats, industrial halls or other commercial buildings, we offer a wide selection of paint colors – we have almost all colors from the RAL and NCS palette. With us, you will easily match the color of paint ideal for the character of the building and your individual preferences.
Note that we perform facade painting only in optimal weather conditions – no rain, no high temperatures and moderate humidity.
We protect the doors, windows, as well as the substrate, so as not to dirty anything during painting. After painting the facade once, we recommend repeating the service – preferably once every few years. This will ensure that the color will always be fresh and last longer without the need for a comprehensive pavement renovation.
We also provide waterproofing service for roofs and, of course, facades. We need an average of 4-5 working days for all the scheduled facade painting work, assuming that the maximum working area is about 300 m2.
Facade renovation
Before renovating the facade, repair cracked sections of plaster and fill in missing sections. Then replaster the cavities and cracks in the masonry core of the walls. For plaster repairs we use traditional lime mortar or ready-made systems for renovation with smooth-textured plaster. The final painting of the facade should be done with vapor permeable paints. Let’s decide on one whose composition and properties will provide the facade with resistance to dirt and maximum color fastness. To apply the paint, choose a brush, roller or a more precise spray apparatus. Avoid painting on very sunny days, when it rains and in strong winds.
What are the stages of facade painting?
Step 1. Assess the condition of the facade and wash it
Start by checking the condition of the walls. This should be done to estimate how extensive the work should be and to assess what tools and products you will need. As a result of moisture, varying temperatures and UV radiation, cracks and other damage develop. After years of use, the facade is also stained.
You should soften with water and use sandpaper to remove old, non-sticky peeling layers of paint. Do this carefully so as not to damage the plaster.
Then proceed to wash the facade. A pressure washer will quickly and effectively remove any dirt.
You also need to clean the surface from mold and mildew. Biocides, a spatula and a wire brush will be helpful. When finished, the facade should be washed with clean water.
Step 2. Remove old coatings, clean walls and repair
There is a high probability that the wall coatings will peel or crack . In this case, the old coatings must be removed before continuing the work. Otherwise, the new layer of paint after some time will peel off the surface, and painting the facade would have a short effect.
Step 3. – Prime the exterior walls
An important issue is the correct choice of primer. Keep in mind the prevailing order: first the paint, then the primer or primer. Always look for information on which primer you need in the technical data sheet of the exterior paint. Apply the primer according to the recommendations on the package.
It is possible that instead of priming the facade, applying a primer coat of diluted paint may be sufficient. If the old facade coatings have been removed completely, apply the primer to the entire facade surface. Otherwise, only on the repaired parts of the walls. If scratches are still visible on the facade, you can use an exterior gypsum smooth, which is applied with a roller.
Step 4.Choosing the paint for the facade
This paint is selected according to the substrate, so make sure about the type of plaster:
- Mineral plaster, cement plaster, concrete or brick – you can use silicate, silicate-silicone paint and silicone, acrylic, lime and cement paint.
- Acrylic plaster – a choice of acrylic or silicone paint.
- Silicate plaster – silicate paint or silicate-silicone paint.
- Silicone plaster – silicone paint only.
Priority is given to water resistance (both rain and a standard amount of moisture), mechanical and chemical resistance, in addition to good coverage and high vapor permeability of the coating. Ideally, if the paint has a microporous structure
Step 5. Choose a painting method and protect the environment
A house with a small area can be painted, using a roller on a telescopic boom.
For storied houses, scaffolding is indispensable. Facade painting can also be carried out using aerial lifts.
It is necessary to protect architectural elements, doors and windows with protective film. Also useful will be goggles and protective clothing for the work contractor.
Step 6. Painting the building facade
The temperature of the air and the painted surface should close between +5 and 28 ° C, and the humidity – not to exceed 80%.
If using a roller, start from the top and head downward, dividing the wall surface into sections. Strips of color should overlap. When painting, don’t pause before covering the entire wall with paint, as unevenness and streaks may form on the wall.
If painting by spray, fill the tank with paint, and then apply it to the wall, holding the gun 20 cm from the surface.

Frequently asked questions
We provide comprehensive facade painting services for various types of facilities, including single-family houses, apartment blocks, office buildings and industrial halls. Our experience includes residential buildings, as well as public and industrial facilities.
Yes, washing the facade is a key step in preparing the surface for painting. We remove all dirt, dust, algae and lichen, which ensures proper paint adhesion and a long-lasting finish.
Most often we use silicone paints, which are characterized by high durability, UV resistance and excellent vapor permeability. In addition, silicone coating effectively protects the facade from the growth of algae and lichen. For sheet facades (such as those made of trapezoidal metal sheets or sandwich panels), we use alkyd, acrylic and epoxy-polyurethane systems, which provide optimal protection against corrosion.
Yes, before painting, we make repairs to minor façade damage, including filling in cavities and leveling the surface. In this way we achieve a uniform structure of the substrate, which affects the aesthetics and durability of the new paint coating.
Depending on the type of surface and project requirements, we use both traditional roller painting and modern spray painting. The spray technique allows for faster and more even paint coverage of the facade, especially on large areas.
Yes, we carry out painting work at great heights with the use of professional scaffolding and high rises. We ensure complete safety and the highest quality of service, regardless of the height of the building.
The main factors affecting the degradation of facades include adverse weather conditions, UV radiation, moisture and the growth of mosses and lichens. Properly selected facade paints effectively protect the building from these threats.
Yes, we offer a wide range of facade paint colors, including the full RAL and NCS palette. This allows our customers to match the color of the facade to their individual preferences and the character of the building.
Facade painting should be carried out in optimal atmospheric conditions – at the right temperature, moderate humidity and without precipitation. This allows the paint to dry evenly and achieve maximum durability.
Yes, we thoroughly protect all non-painted elements, such as windows, doors, gutters and paving stones, before we start painting. This avoids unwanted staining and ensures an aesthetically pleasing end result.
To maintain the aesthetics and durability of the facade, we recommend periodically washing the surface and refreshing the paint layer every few years, depending on the degree of use.
Yes, we perform hydrophobization of the facade, which increases the resistance of the surface to moisture, dirt and the growth of algae and mosses. The hydrophobic coating protects the facade from water soaking, which significantly extends its life.
Painting the facade of a 250-300 m² single-family house usually takes about 4-5 working days. Turnaround time may vary depending on the extent of preparatory work and weather conditions.
Yes, we provide a warranty for the services performed, the length of which is from 2 to 5 years, depending on the materials used and the conditions of use of the facade.
As part of the work carried out, we always include minor façade improvements, such as filling in cavities. In addition, we offer replacement of gutters and other accompanying work, tailored to the individual needs of the client.
